With the vision that the only way out of isolation, stigma and poverty is through empowerment and development, WOO wants to generate opportunities, income, and self-sufficiency for disadvantaged people in vulnerable communities through employment and through partnership building. The involvement of local community-based organizations and development organizations leads to collaborative implementation of projects.
An inclusive business model is used to produce sustainable luxury products, through which WOO is able to connect the most marginalised populations with the consumer population, people on both ends of the value chain.
For WOO, impact means the impact on the lives of those who produce and those who use WOO products. We measure our impact among four different target groups.
In developing countries where WOO sources and produces its products, we aim to impact 1 million people in 10 years of operation, by 2025. WOO products will reach out and impact the lifestyle of 10 million consumers in the same period.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK
WOO follow the principles of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals in every possible aspect of our business. These goals were established in 2015 to guide global, regional and national efforts to reduce poverty, address climate change, build inclusive societies, and address a myriad of other pressing global problems.
